BODYWORK TREATMENT MENU
Please see below list of the mobile treatments available.
Bodywork appointments are charged at £50-£60 per session depending on your location.
When I arrive, we start with a consultation where I will recommend a treatment plan using evidence based clinical reasoning to suit the individual horse. All sessions include sports massage as a baseline/standard, with any recommended extras (e.g. Laser, Myofascial Release, Heat Therapy, Balance Pads etc.) also included.

MYOFASCIAL RELEASE

Myofascial release targets the fascial system - a thin layer that encases the musculoskeletal system - through gentle sustained pressure. It addresses fibrous adhesions within the fascia, muscle tightness, muscle soreness and brings circulation to tissues - restoring their health. When used in conjunction with sports massage, myofascial release can improve range of motion, reduce pain and improve performance.

Myofascial release is applied using both my hands and the FascialEdge tool - a stainless steel tool designed to follow the curves and contours of the horses body, and allowing me to target deeper tissues.
LOW LEVEL LASER THERAPY

Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) - also commonly referred to as Cold Laser, Photobiomodulation, Low Power Laser Therapy etc. - using red, infrared and blue light therapy to treat target areas by reducing inflammation and promoting healing.

These two types of light/laser therapy I offer can be used to treat the following conditions:
-
Capped hocks
-
Windgalls
-
Wounds (including open and infected wounds)
-
Dermatitis
-
Mud fever
-
Tendon/Ligament strains and injuries
-
Rain scald
-

-
Bruising
-
Muscle tears/strains/spasms
-
Fractures
-
Splints
-
Arthritis
-
OCD
-
Laminitis
-
Abscesses
-
Back Pain
... plus many more!

LLLT can also be used in post-operative rehabilitation.
Please note: Veterinary permission must be sought prior to treatment if the horse is suffering from any ill-health or injury. Please see the 'Information for Clients' tab for further detail.
LLLT can be booked as a standalone treatment, or in conjunction with a bodywork/massage appointment.
THERMO and HEAT THERAPY
Using the Epiony Heat Pad Plus, horses can enjoy the benefits of thermal therapy during any other treatment they have with me.
Hugely beneficial across the spine, neck and hindquarters prior to deep bodywork or LLLT - the use of heat dilates blood vessels, promoting circulation/healing and relieving pain.
BALANCE PAD TRAINING
Balance Pads are used to:

-
Promote improved balance
-
Promote increased proprioception
-
Strengthen stabiliser muscles, such as the pectoral muscles, using micro-adjustments and micro-contractions
-
Strengthen the core
-
Challenge the nervous system and vestibular system, improving co-ordination
-
Improve joint stability
-
Reduce the risk of future injury
-
Suitable for all horses as balance pads are a form of low intensity exercise/training

A set of four pads are available for use during any appointment. Horses are slowly encouraged to work towards standing on all four pads over a number of sessions.
Balance Pad Training can be booked as a standalone treatment, or in conjunction with a bodywork/massage or LLLT appointment.
