THE BENEFITS...

Why is Equine Therapy so important?

I want you to get the absolute best out of your horse, and regular performance and rehabilitation therapy helps to:

  • Reduce the risk of and help prevent injuries

  • Relieve stress and promote mental relaxation and wellbeing

  • Increase flexibility, range of motion and freedom of movement

  • Improve muscle tone

  • Improve posture

  • Relieve pain and tension

  • Improve immune system support

  • Improve circulation

  • Improve balance and proprioception

It has been widely reported in research that bodywork can increase the performance of horses by up to 20%.

Myofascial release focuses on the fascia of the horse and provides similar benefits to massage/bodywork therapy. The techniques used in myofascial release focus on releasing tension and adhesions found within fascia - improving range of motion, reducing pain and improving posture.

Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT), otherwise known as cold laser, photobiomodulation and many other terms, primarily focuses on reducing inflammation and promoting cell proliferation (healing) using red and infrared light therapy. LLLT is fantastic for extremely tight muscles, injuries, open wounds, arthritis, laminitis, abscesses and more. The device I use offers both red/infrared and blue light therapy - blue light reduces and inhibits the production of bacteria, reducing the risk of infection in an open wound.

I also offer Balance Pad Training, Thermo/Heat Therapy, Joint Mobilisations, Stretching and more. For further information on the services and treatments that I offer, please visit the Services tab.
